Me-vid Evaluation.
PRE-PRODUCTION
During this pre production I became more creative as my imagination furthered more by how I have filmed. This made me become more independent as I was left to film alone and gather all that I needed to for my me-vid to be complete. I felt that I became more relaible on myself and had to use what I knew already to further what needed to be done for my me-vid to be filmed.
The post production skills i learnt during my me-vid was how to script which enabled me to know what I'm doing for the shots and who will be in my me-vid and also where I'm recording it. I learnt that I had to sort things out for myself in order to complete the given task and this was getting the people in which i needed to record with, the places i had to record and the time at which all the recording was needed to be finished by. This helped me managed to meet my deadlines as everything was already i border for me to do. Here you can see the script I created to help me with my filming. From my script you can see that my intro corresponds to what my intro is in my video.
During this production i have learnt how to use live type which animates fonts and also final cut express which is the program I used to edit my me-vid to get the finished video. I learnt how to also sort out my 10 key moments during my life for which was needed. Final cut express allowed me to edit my 10 key life moments in order to help complete my me-vid. Final Cut Express was new to me and this is quite easy to use however it took a long time to upload and import different files onto the software. I had furthered my work and research through final cut which has improved the quality of my work from using a better software for editing.
PRODUCTION SKILLS
A production skill i learnt was to use a green screen which would enable me to be in anywhere in a background, this is something new that i learnt because it has been my first time using a green screen in a piece of media work. This is the first time that I would hvae used a green screen and edited a background for a place that i'd like to me. The green screen used enabled me to further my media production with creativity. The green screen was a creative idea to be used as it could show that I can think of things to do for myself for me to be placed of filmed where I need to be.
I learnt how to download and get videos from you-tube the safe way using which allowed me to download them legally.

I also learnt how to add music to my me-vid to make it sound better rather than just having natural sound throughout the whole piece. Save tube where it legally allowed em to download my you-tube videos that were needed to be used.
POST PRODUCTION
This shows an effect used used on live type to make the word come differently to make it if look better as an animation has been added. This animation was added to show more interest and detail within the work and is also on an image to show who and what the image is or is about.
Another post production skill i learnt was how to use a new software called final cut express to edit my me-vid on this is better than i movie because it is more open to option in the way you can edit the files and change the effects and graphics. This is also good because you can slow down the pace of the video, change photo size and put videos in reverse. This editing software is more advanced than i movie which was used for my encounter video as it also allows you to edit green screens. | Live Type During the post production learnt how to make graphics and words using Live type to make my media work seem more interesting and appealing this can make the word move, change font size and shape. Live type is good because you can animate the words on top of a picture to make it look better. This program allows me to have animated fonts and backgrounds. On live type I made different words and backgrounds to go on the photos to show who the people and this is also at the start and end of the being the intro and the outro with credits to show who took part and was in the video. Explanation of my idea
During this week i have been creating a story board which has drawings to help me to plan and know what will take place in my 'encounter' media filming. The drawings will explain what will take place in each scene and what the camera angles, lighting,camera shots, sounds and the duration of the scenes. The story board explains my idea for the 'encounter' piece. My piece is on kesean going into Billy's house and stealing his watch. This week in my group we ( Jamie, kesean and I) have been planning our 'encounter' which will soon be filmed. On Wednesday we started drawing on our story boards for what will take place but before we began drawing me jotted down every scene and cut scene that will take place. The drawing have been fine lined so they stand out and explain what is taking place in each scene.
The camera techniques used was close ups to show facial expressions and the mid shots were used to get actions to gather more information. Long shots and established shots help show the surroundings. The other techniques used were 180 degree rule, shot reverse shot and rule of thirds.
The editing techniques planned to be used was a fade for the establishment shot and to to fade out at the end. Quick cuts were planned to be used to keep the viewers interested, the shots vary from my story board in the shot duration. The short cuts will interest the viewer more.

Edit workshop evaluation
The camera techniques used was the 180 degree rule and this when the characters are on the same side of the camera no matter where you move when filming as long as you do not pass the line at which is in the middle. The 'shot' reverse 'shot' rule is when a conversation is included when the shots go either side of the over the persons shoulder to show the other person talking to them. The rule of thirds is ensuring that the persons eye are always a third down the street. These rules are essential for getting a good recording.
The were different challenges found when filming but the lighting was a small problem so not all of the footage was clear also the filming took place at a different house so there wasn't a door handle/ knob to turn so we had to use keys. The thing i would change when filming again would be the house and the noise around where the filming took place and last of all ensuring that there is a door handle/knob. I would also change the time of day to set the scene a lot of better to create a more tense and suspicious atmosphere.
If i were to edit again I'd ensure that my shots and the techniques used are in the right places and are shown in the best way possible. I could have added effects to make the production more interesting to draw the view in to the short encounter more.
The opportunity to change things for the recording would be god as the mistakes made could be improved to show a better quality and performance to the video for a chance to adjust things from before. I would also change the length of the clips so the next time i would over film so i get more footage in-case there is an error with the just the normal footage.
The strength of my work was being able to film all the shots in one day and complete them during editing. While editing the match on action was a good strength as it seemed to have been completed very well. My creativity was a strength as i placed the camera n the floor to look at my feet walk passed as if to say i was really there. The digital software i movie helped me improve my overall film as it enabled me to edit and cut part of excess footage out that wasn't needed which helped improve my encounter production to also show strengths in my work.
During post production i had planned to have complete all the shots that were on my story board so that they would make sense and help the film follow on. I had planned to use different techniques and cuts and effects to improve the video.
I was creative through putting the camera on the floor watching me walk passed however my creativity could have gone further by thinking out of the box with the thoughts for what was going on during the encounter. I could have furthered my creativity when editing the film during my workshop session.
The overall weakness of my work was shown in the shots were i hadn't over filmed and where at time the shot reverse shot had failed so part of the conversation where it was filmed form my shoulder of me talking cause not enough footage was over filmed to be able to catch all the what was going on. My Summer
MY SUMMER
FILM:
The first part of the media i had enjoyed during summer was a film called "A haunted house". This is one of the funniest films iv'e seen. Marlon Wayans is an actor in the film who has been haunted a ghost for a long time, a doll who his girlfriend brings with her to the house they move into then becomes sexually attracted to Marlon Wayans. I like the fact that the doll keeps coming back into his life no matter what he does to get rid of her, he buried her, burnt her,sent her away but yet she still came back to torment him. The possessed doll kept leaving "miss me" messages on the wall in his room and on his car. This all happens because of his ex-girlfriend who was haunted and possessed by a ghost. This film is a continuation from the first 'A haunted house' where an evil spirit was yet again possessing in his life then.

This will be one of the best films that I have ever watched because it had my eye glued to the screen throughout watching the whole film. I laughed throughout the whole film and it was one of the best media films I would have ever seen.

I chose this song because it was the song i heard a lot throughout and it made me feel happy at time when i heard it. This song was played a lot when i was on holiday in Turkey and in England.
I liked this song because it is catchy and I like the overall melody and sound of the piece it grabs my attention as the listener. This song was played very frequently throughout my summer it was another popular song that I heard.
TV:
The TV program me I watched most watched was the Simpsons.I enjoyed watched the Simpsons because its funny i enjoy watching all the episodes because I laugh at all of them. The Simpsons is a comedy cartoon for adults and young children some parts can be rude and disturbing but at times can be very funny.This is the I Simpsons family. The Simpsons makes me laugh because of the jokes and they way the characters act throughout the TV show.
Family guy was another TV show that i enjoyed watching because it was a programme that would have me laughing throughout and I find the overall programme enjoyable.WEBSITES:
The one main website I used was face book and this was used mainly so I could keep in contact with my friends and family. On Facebook there are funny videos that relate to the media that I enjoy watching to keep me entertained. I mostly used Facebook when I was on holiday so that I could still talk to people. Facebook is a good media social website because you can share about your life and how you are with others and share things that you would want to share.
